Currently available for grades 3-5, Vocabulary Quest is a game-based vocabulary instruction program designed to improve reading comprehension for students ages 10 and up who need reading support. Additional grade levels (6-12) are in development and will be released monthly to expand the learning experience.
Set in the Lands of Vocab, players embark on an adventure to restore the world’s energy by mastering new words. The game uses proven learning techniques such as descriptive explanations, word-image association, pre-teaching, repetition, and spaced review, ensuring strong vocabulary retention in an engaging way.
Accessible via web browsers on desktops and laptops, Vocabulary Quest allows for self-paced learning, reducing teacher workload while keeping students motivated. A built-in Learning Management System (LMS) enables educators to track progress efficiently. Gamification features, including avatars, guilds, unlockable equipment, and special abilities, enhance engagement and make learning more fun.

What is Vocabulary Quest?
Vocabulary Quest is games-based direct vocabulary instruction for students in 5th through 12th grade.
How was the vocabulary list curated?
The majority of the tier 2 vocabulary words was curated from lists recommended by independent school districts, such as the Hyde Park Central, Berkeley Unified, and Southern Cayuga Central School Districts. For tier 1 and tier 3 The New Academic Word List (NAWL) and New General Service List (NGSL) were mostly used.
